What do you do when your child’s school portraits arrive with outdated backdrops and lackluster facial expressions? These photographs are not suitable to hang on your mantel. Ideally, you want portraits that allow your child’s personality to shine through (tastefully, of course) and that you can cherish for a lifetime. We found these unsightly school portraits and a handful of portraits that we have taken over the past few months. Which ones do you prefer?
When Robin and Jake walked into our studio, we couldn’t resist asking how they met. After hearing that they have known each other for practically their entire life and grew up as tennis stars, we had to share their story with all of you. Here is what Robin had to say:
Our journey started 16 years ago on a tennis court at West Orange Tennis Club when we were 11 years old. Although we refused to speak to each other, we are convinced now that it was love at first sight. Throughout high school, we were always friendly but never had that special spark. For that, we had to wait until the summer after Jake’s freshman year in college and my sophomore year. We decided it would be nice to grab dinner and catch up after so long. I had just gotten out of a relationship and Jake finished a tough freshman year at the bottom of the dating totem pole. The timing couldn’t have been any better. After an amazing sushi dinner, the rest is history…. We stuck together through nearly 5 years of long distance romance, while I finished college at University of Richmond and Jake attended Harvard Law School in Cambridge. Now, after approximately eight amazing years together, we couldn’t be more excited to finally tie the knot.
We couldn’t be more thrilled to be photographing Bella and Brian’s wedding in October! As personal friends (Brian is our man at BWD INC., our insurance broker) of ours, we knew they would be up for anything on their engagement shoot. We explored the park (Bella hiking the entire way in her stilettos) and even took a detour to the subway and photographed underground. Naturally, Brian did not have a problem giving his fiance a smooch in the metro station, ignoring all other passer-byes. Best wishes!
Thirty-eight years ago tomorrow, Judi and Andy Marcus exchanged vows at Temple Beth Shalom in Roslyn, New York. Happy Anniversary to a caring and loving couple! Wishing you a world of happiness!
