Sarah & Dan

How did Dan propose? Dan proposed to me during Passover 2 years ago. Dan’s family is from Israel and my brother lives there as well. Dan invited my family and his family to Haifa, Israel to celebrate Passover together with his extended family. However, I knew something was up, as my parents only planned to stay in Israel for 3 nights! The day before the first Seder, Dan wanted to spend some “quality time” with me. He took me out to lunch and then we walked over to the Baha’i Gardens, which are picturesque gardens that overlook the port of Haifa. Dan proposed in the gardens, and we kissed. The guard behind us started clapping at us. We thought initially that he was congratulating us, but then he started yelling at us that we “couldn’t kiss there!” because it was a religious site! After getting kicked out of the gardens, we went back and celebrated our engagement with all of my family and Dan’s family.

Standout Memory of the night: Dan and I surprised all of our wedding guests by joining our band on the stage (Dan on guitar, me on vocals) and performed a rousing rendition of the Kiss song “Rock n Roll All Night”. It was definitely one of the highlights of the evening.

Honeymoon Location: We spent 2 weeks touring Vietnam and Singapore. The 18-hour nonstop flight was definitely worth the amazing experience/incredible hotels/great food!

One piece of advice that you could give to other couples:  Wedding planning is stressful, no matter how relaxed a person you are. The one piece of advice I would give is to not lose sight of what the wedding is all about, a celebration of the love of you and your partner. It’s easy to get caught up in invitations and floral arrangements, but at the end of the day, it’s just a party, and hopefully one amazing day with many more to follow!

Wedding Dress: Amsale, Amsale Flagship Salon in New York City

Groom’s Tux: Dan’s suit (we didn’t do tuxes) was from was Armani from Barney’s New York

Bridesmaids’ Gift and Groomsmen’ Gift: I gave my bridesmaids vintage earrings, Dan gave groomsmen Brioni ties and pocketsquares and cufflinks.

Something borrowed and something blue:  I borrowed my mom’s diamond earrings. My something blue was a tiny crystal heart that my mom secretly tied on the inside of my dress!

Testimonial: My husband and I had the pleasure of getting to work with Brian Marcus both for our engagement shoot and our wedding day. From the first day we met him, Brian immediately put us at ease with his professionalism, demeanor and creativity. We felt totally comfortable with him, which resulted in beautiful, natural photographs that we will treasure for a lifetime. We can’t thank Brian and the rest of the Fred Marcus team enough for helping us capture this wonderful moment in our lives.

Felix (and Vlad) were great. Even before I saw the Facebook previews—you can just tell that he is an artist. What I find exceptional is that he has the skill to back up his talent. Working with your company has been a pleasure. We can’t wait to see the rest of the images.
