Jasmine & Wei

How did Wei propose? He proposed to me one morning as I was just getting out of bed. When he did, I thought I had to be dreaming.  It was right before my law school exams, and I was so sleep deprived from studying that I did not see it coming!

Standout Memory of the night: The look on Wei’s face as he watched the surprise Korean girl band dance performance put on by me and my bridesmaids. His expression was priceless.

Honeymoon Location: We went skiing in Aspen. It was our first ski trip together and we loved it. We finally found an outdoor activity that we love doing together.

One piece of advice that you could give to other couples: Be sure to take a moment out of all the festivities to reflect upon the special day. It only happens once, and it all goes by so quickly!

Wedding Dress: Monique Lhuillier, New York City

Groom’s Tux: Il Sarto Bespoke Tailors, Hong Kong

Bridesmaids’ Gift and Groomsmen’ Gift:  Bridesmaids were each given a bracelet by Hermes Kelly
Groomsmen were each given a bespoke tuxedo by Il Sarto

Something Borrowed: We did not follow this tradition! Instead, my mother-in-law showered me with traditional wedding gifts (mainly jewelry) before the wedding.

Traditions: We held a tea ceremony the day before our wedding. It is a Chinese tradition where the bride and groom pay respect to the elders by offering cups of sweetened tea.

During the wedding reception, I changed twice. First, I changed into a traditional palace-style Korean dress, and subsequently into a traditional Chinese formal dress.
