Shana & Marc

How did you (Marc) propose? I proposed at my mother’s art studio in Tribeca where Shana and I lived together for one year. Shana thought we were going to the loft to pick up winter clothes that we stored there for an upcoming ski trip. We had brunch at our favorite spot in Tribeca (Bubby’s) before heading to the loft. I had the studio decorated with lots of flowers and candles and Shana was completely shocked when I got down on one knee and proposed. She said yes! and our families and friends joined us downtown for an amazing engagement party!

Standout Memory of the night:  Right after the ceremony when we were walking away from the chuppah, Shana grabbed my arm and told me to look back at all our guests and take in the moment. It was incredible to look back at the beautiful room and see all of our guests clapping and excited to start the night. There was so much love and happiness in the room and we were so happy we took that moment to take it all in.

Honeymoon Location: South Africa and the Seychelles…It was incredible!

One piece of advice that you could give to other couples:  Make sure to have fun at your own wedding and take it all in!!!

TESTIMONIAL: We had such an incredible experience with Brian Marcus and his crew. Brian is a true professional and really knows how to orchestrate the best shots. We both felt extremely comfortable and really enjoyed working with Brian!

Stephanie & Craig

How did Craig propose? Craig proposed on the rooftop of my building, surrounded by roses and candles, with a dramatic view of the Manhattan skyline in the background.  He blindfolded me and took me upstairs where he got down on one knee and handed me a small book entitled “50 Reasons Why I love You.” The book was filled with jokes and love notes and on the last page of the book, he wrote “Will You Marry Me?”  It was perfect.

Standout Memory of the night:  Right before I walked down the aisle, I was overcome with emotion as I watched the procession enter the chuppah room and heard the meaningful music selections being played/sang.  It was very moving to see my parents standing there about to walk me down.

Honeymoon Location: We went to the Maldives and stayed in an over-the-water hut. It’s the most incredible place on earth!

One piece of advice that you could give to other couples:  Enjoy every second, it goes by way too fast! Also, hire vendors and planners you feel extremely comfortable with and whose work you have seen because you wont have to worry about anything.

Wedding Dress: Vera Wang. Flagship store on Madison Avenue.  Custom detail.

Groom’s Tux: Paul StuartPhineas Cole at the flagship Madison Avenue store

Bridesmaids’ Gift and Groomsmen’ Gift: Both bridesmaids and groomsmen received monogrammed toiletry/dopp bags.

Something Blue and Something Borrowed: One of my oldest and best friends lent me a gold evil eye pin she used on her three children’s baby blankets when bringing each of them home from the hospital. She pinned it into my dress; it was very sentimental.  For the something blue, I had a hand stitched white/blue label with the date of my wedding and my initials sewed into my dress. My barrette was from the 1920’s to go with the vintage aloncon lace my dress was made out of.

TESTIMONIAL:  I wanted to tell you how amazing Felix and Juan were at our wedding. I know you already know how talented they are, but on top of that, I still wanted to let you know how professional, considerate, prompt and nice they were.  We only received a few pictures so far, but we were blown away. They are unbelievable and captured the emotion and beauty of the day better than anything else.  The people who saw the pictures were also blown away. I received messages from close friends to random people telling me that they are the nicest and best wedding photos they have EVER seen. I am so happy that we chose Fred Marcus. It was the right choice and the best choice.

Photograph of the Week: Jacqui and David, The Breakers

Jacqui and David’s wedding this past weekend in Florida was nothing short of spectacular.  The Breakers is by far one of the most beautiful venues in the country and I’m looking forward to doing many more weddings there. I’ll take 75 and sunny any day in January! Check out the full gallery in a few weeks after we put our final touches on it.   – Brian
