How did Julian propose? Julian never had an actual plan as to how he would propose. It was on Memorial Day and we went to his house in New Jersey so that we could attend a BBQ since Julian loves any buffet or BBQ. I decided to sit outside to get some sun. Julian, who does not like the sun so much, was inside with his brother Devon. Julian had a ring already in his mother’s safe so he decided he may as well just propose then and there. Julian came outside with a smirk on his face and told me “we need to talk”. I thought something was wrong or that I had done something wrong. He sat down on the lounge chair next to me, said “I love you, Beck. Will you marry me?” and he placed the ring in the box on the table next to me. I was in total shock and disbelief. Before I could even reply yes, Julian asked if we could still go to the BBQ.
Standout Memory of the night: Walking down the aisle with my future husband waiting for me at the end was the best feeling. I was so overcome with emotion and happiness. But the best moment had to be just standing under the Chuppah, along with our parents and siblings, holding hands, and being surrounded by all our friends and loved ones. I remember looking around at our family under the Chuppah and everyone had the biggest smiles on their faces. It was an unforgettable moment as Julian and I became husband and wife.
Honeymoon Location: We went to the Viceroy in Anguilla for a few days after the wedding. We had to be back in time for NBA playoffs, which started the weekend after as Julian is the biggest Brooklyn Nets fan. We plan to go away to Europe this summer for an extended honeymoon.
One piece of advice that you could give to other couples: Make sure to take everything in. Stick with your husband or wife as much as possible throughout your wedding so that you are able to enjoy this momentous occasion together. Eat, smile, relax, and have fun!
Groom’s Tux: Giorgio Armani from Giorgio Armani
Bridesmaids’ Gift and Groomsmen’ Gift: The bridesmaids received lacquered jewelry boxes with their monogram on it. Groomsmen received monogrammed duffel/weekended bags.
Something Borrowed and Something Blue: I had a custom label sewn onto the inside of my wedding dress that had our new monogram and our wedding date in baby blue. I also wore baby blue underwear that said “I love JS” in rhinestones. My something borrowed was a garter belt that my mother wore at her wedding and my sister then wore at her wedding.
Testimonial: We want to thank Brian and his whole team for such an incredible job at our wedding! Brian was such a pleasure to work with and made the whole process so easy for my husband and me. Brian, Felix, Anton, and the whole team went above and beyond! There was never a moment where we felt we couldn’t find someone when we wanted a picture taken. There was not a single moment that was missed! Everyone from Fred Marcus was so enjoyable to work with from the planning, to our engagement pictures, and throughout our whole wedding. They were so organized and efficient, while at the same time fun and easygoing. We were so happy that Brian and his crew were there to capture the most special night of our lives! We could not have asked for a better team to work with!
